Snowy surprise.

All around me was nothing but white. The once vibrant green trees shuddered beneath the powerdy substance that covered their large branches. I manuevered my way through the snow, huddled up close in my oversized blanket. I didn't realize at the time that where I was walking would lead me to him, the glorious angel of my dreams.

Padding weightlessly through the snow covered grass, I walked for what seemed like hours though it was only minutes. I found myself standing at the edge of a clearing that gave way to a large lake, the water's surface shimmered from the faint light of the sun that peaked through the grey clouds overhead. The water was frozen. I could tell even from the distance that I stood from it.

After a moment of deliberation, I walked past the tree I lingered behind and managed to force my legs to carry me to the lake's shore. Once there, I gazed out across the crystal surface, settling into the peaceful atmosphere that hovered in the area. Caught up in the moment, I didn't notice the shadow that appeared behind me, nor did I notice the strong arms that weaved seemlessly around my waist. By the time I did notice and turn around, I couldn't manage a word because I found a pair of silken lips crushing against mine in a passionate kiss.

I shuddered with delight, leaning up and into the kiss, hoping to make it last longer because I knew it wouldn't be long before he was pulling back. Just as I suspected, after a few moments of lips on lips, he drew back, a shaken laughter dancing past his smooth lips. The sound could shatter any heart in a matter of seconds. It was a glorious laugh, one that shouldn't be allowed to be heard by my all too human ears.

I gazed up at the angelic face that leered down at me. I should be frightened of him, I had told myself a million times. His beauty was unnatural, inhuman even. It was the beauty men would kill for and women would die to look at. As that thought crossed my concious, I was instantly greatful that this beautiful creature was mine and mine alone.

"I knew you would come." The heavenly voice broke through my thoughts and made my pulse race. Anything he did brought on this strange wave of emotions. I had never felt anything like this before. "Of course I would... You are my beakon of light. I will follow you where ever you go." I answered simply, honestly.

That same, heart shattering laughter errupted from him and before I could say another word, I found his lips against mine once again. I could tell by the way his grip on me tightened and the way he intensified the kiss that he desired my company as much as I desired his. I wondered if he could tell by the way I gripped his arms and molded my body against his that I desired him entirely, that I would do anything he requested.

The kiss ended sooner than I wished but it didn't matter. I rested there in his arms, my cheek pressed against his chest, handfuls of his shirt gripped in my palms. I felt at complete ease; nothing in the world would ruin this moment. He hummed the tune to my favorite song by my ear, almost as if to lul me to sleep. I refused, as stubborn as always. I didn't want to miss a single moment of my time with him, knowing that the moment couldn't last forever.

Forcing myself to stay awake, I tipped my head back and gazed up into his butterscotch eyes, my bright blue eyes searching each contour line of his face and the way his eyes seemed to smolder when he gazed back down at me. Everything about this angel brought on a slight pain and a tightening of my throat. I knew the moment I lost him my world would cease to exist any further. I would not, could not live on if he were to disappear.

My worries were eased when his strong arms formed a vice grip on my waist and he reassured me in a velvety voice that he would not be leaving anytime soon. Letting him sooth me, I dropped my head back down and looked out to the lake, content with how things were now, pushing all thoughts aside except for the now and the who.
